Privacy Policy
How Apex Strategy collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit apexstrategy.in or contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
Who we are
Apex Strategy is a B2B revenue-growth and India-UAE market-entry advisory based in Bengaluru, India, led by its founder, Sachin Chougule. In this policy, “Apex Strategy”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Apex Strategy. “You” means anyone who visits apexstrategy.in or contacts us through it.
For the purposes of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), Apex Strategy is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below. Where the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) applies, we act as the Controller.
What this policy covers
This policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit our website, contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, request a strategy consultation, ask to receive our Executive Growth Briefing, or engage with us about our services. It does not cover third-party websites or apps you reach through our links, such as LinkedIn or WhatsApp, which have their own privacy policies.
Information we collect
Information you choose to give us
- Enquiries and consultation requests: your name, job title, company, website, country, work email, phone number, area of interest, target market, revenue stage, preferred meeting time and a description of the decision you are working on.
- Email, phone and WhatsApp conversations: the content of messages and calls, your contact details and anything you share with us.
- Executive Growth Briefing: the email address you ask us to send the briefing to.
- Client engagements: business contact details and information needed to scope, deliver and invoice an agreed engagement.
How the website forms work: our consultation and newsletter forms do not store your details on the website. When you press submit, your own email app opens with a message addressed to us. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: our hosting provider records standard technical data when any page is requested, such as IP address, browser type, device type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. This is used to keep the website secure and working.
- Web fonts: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address and browser details to Google when a page loads.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors. See our Cookie Notice for details.
Please do not send sensitive or confidential information
Please do not include confidential technical, customer, financial or personal information in an initial enquiry. If an engagement requires it, we will agree confidentiality terms with you first.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a strategy consultation.
- To understand your situation and decide whether Apex Strategy is the right fit, or whether a specialist adviser would serve you better.
- To prepare proposals, deliver agreed engagements, manage the client relationship and issue invoices.
- To send the Executive Growth Briefing when you have asked to receive it.
- To keep our website and communications secure and to prevent misuse.
- To meet legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Why we are allowed to use it
- Consent: when you contact us, submit a form or ask for the briefing, you give consent for us to use your details for that purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time (see “Your rights” below). Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
- Legitimate uses permitted by law: for example, where you voluntarily provide information for a specified purpose, or where processing is needed to comply with law or a court order.
- Contract: where processing is needed to prepare for or perform an engagement you have agreed with us.
International transfers
We work across India and the UAE, and some of our service providers store data on servers in other countries. Your data may therefore be processed outside the country where you live. Where this happens, we use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to protect your data, in line with the transfer rules of the DPDP Act and, where it applies, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: up to 24 months after our last contact, so we can refer back to the conversation if you get in touch again.
- Client engagement records: for the duration of the engagement and afterwards for as long as required by tax, accounting and other applicable laws.
- Executive Growth Briefing: until you ask to stop receiving it.
- Server logs: for the period set by our hosting provider for security purposes.
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
We use reasonable security safeguards, including HTTPS encryption across the website, access-controlled email and accounts protected with strong passwords and two-step verification where available. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant authority of a personal data breach where the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- ask us to correct, complete or update it;
- ask us to delete it, where we no longer need it or you withdraw consent;
- withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it;
- unsubscribe from the Executive Growth Briefing by replying “unsubscribe”;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated (under the DPDP Act);
- have a grievance addressed by us, and if you are not satisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India or, in the UAE, the UAE Data Office.
To use any of these rights, email us at the address below. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Children
Our website and services are intended for business professionals. They are not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
Our website links to LinkedIn and WhatsApp and may link to other sites. When you follow these links, the other service’s own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for how those services handle your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, tools or legal obligations change, for example if we add website analytics. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make significant changes, we will highlight them on this page.
